WASHINGTON — The Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC) presented its 2013 Annual Report to Congress during a public meeting today. WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today reminded taxpayers that, due to the current budget situation including the sequester, the agency will be shut down on Friday, June 14. As was the case on May 24, the first furlough day, all IRS operations will again be closed on June 14. This means that all IRS offices, including all toll-free hotlines, the Taxpayer Advocate Service and the agency’s nearly 400 taxpayer assistance centers nationwide, will be closed. Spring 2013 Statistics of Income Bulletin Now Available

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today announced the availability of the spring 2013 issue of the Statistics of Income Bulletin, which features information on high-income individual income tax returns filed for tax year 2010.  Taxpayers filed almost 4.3 million returns with adjusted gross income of $200,000 or more for 2010. These high-income returns represent about 3.0 percent of all returns filed for the tax year.
